Traffic Court Records in Murray County
Murray County Probate Court handles county traffic citations identified on its official page, including matters issued by the Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, and Motor Vehicle Compliance Division or DOT. Chatsworth municipal citations use Government Window. Eton links EZCourtPay. The citation controls which branch applies.
A payment portal may show a citation and amount, but it is not a full case history. The court clerk holds the case record, setting, plea, and disposition material. Superior Court becomes relevant when a permitted jury request transfers from Probate.
Murray Traffic Ticket Lookup
Read the court name before opening a vendor. Murray Probate, Chatsworth, and Eton are separate. Eton's EZCourtPay form requires date of birth plus either citation number or last name. Chatsworth exposes a Traffic Tickets option, but its detailed fields were not captured. Call the city clerk at 706-695-2834 if it cannot be found.
- Find the citation number, agency, court, and date.
- Use the official court-linked lookup.
- For Eton, enter DOB and citation number or last name.
- Call or visit the clerk if the citation is absent.
- Confirm the appearance date and response options.
Finding Your Traffic Court Date
The date printed on the citation is the first setting to verify. For Murray Probate, payment is due on or before that date when payment is allowed. A bondable offense requires appearance. A portal date can lag or a setting can change, so confirm with the issuing court before travel.
| Citation number | Full number, including E if shown. |
|---|---|
| Court | Probate, Chatsworth, or Eton. |
| Date and time | Appearance or arraignment setting. |
| Location | Confirm with the citation and clerk. |
| Status | Verify with the court record. |
Paying or Contesting a Murray County Ticket
Murray Probate allows online, in-person, or mail payment where permitted. Mail requires a money order or cashier's check. In person, listed methods are cash, money order, and debit or credit. To contest, appear at arraignment and plead not guilty; a later hearing may involve witnesses. A jury request transfers to Superior Court.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| Permitted payment resolves the citation through the court. | A not-guilty plea leads to a later hearing. |
| Pay on or before the printed court date when allowed. | Appear at the arraignment date to enter the plea. |
| Probate lists online, mail, and counter routes. | Appear before the issuing court; jury requests transfer from Probate to Superior. |
Missed Court Date or Payment: Murray Probate warns that failure to appear can lead to a warrant and detention until the next date. Failure to pay can also produce a DDS suspension notice. Contact Probate at 706-695-3812 for the case-specific status and instructions.
Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record
The court file and state driver file are distinct. The Probate or municipal clerk keeps the citation case record, including settings, pleas, payments, and disposition. Georgia DDS receives court conviction reports and maintains its own record. DDS monthly reports are aggregate data, not a way to prove one case outcome.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept By | Probate or municipal court clerk | Georgia Department of Driver Services |
| Shows | Citation, settings, plea, disposition, and fine | Information received through court reporting |
| How to Get It | Court-linked lookup or clerk request | Use the current DDS record-request route |
Fees and Copies
No current Murray Probate or municipal traffic copy fee was captured. Ask the issuing clerk for plain and certified-copy costs. The Georgia Open Records Act framework can allow up to 25 cents per page plus reasonable retrieval cost, but that is not a promise of a court-certified copy price.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plain traffic-file copy | Ask the issuing clerk | No current local amount captured |
| Certified traffic-file copy | Ask the issuing clerk | Certification may add a charge |
| Open-records copy framework | Up to $0.25 per page where applicable | Search and retrieval may be separate |
Murray Probate Traffic Access
The county Probate route should come first for a citation naming that court. Its official instructions identify online payment, the clerk's counter, mail, and direct phone confirmation. Mail payment must be a money order or cashier's check. In-person methods listed are cash, money order, and debit or credit. Payment is due by the date printed on the citation when payment is allowed.
The Murray Probate traffic page supplies this assigned capture.

The page also directs a person who contests the charge to arraignment rather than treating payment as the only route.
Murray Citation Posting Delay
Georgia Courts warns that a citation can take 7 to 21 business days to reach an online court or vendor. During that gap, repeated searches may show nothing even though the citation is valid. Check the issuing court, citation number, spelling, and date. If the appearance date is close, call the clerk instead of waiting for the vendor.
Electronic GSP citations generally begin with E, while paper citations usually start with a numeral. That prefix is a clue, not proof of the court or current status.
Murray City Ticket Branches
Chatsworth and Eton do not use the county Probate lookup for every municipal citation. Chatsworth links Government Window and identifies court clerk Rhonda England, P.O. Box 516, 706-695-2834, plus vendor help at 877-575-7233. The inspected landing displayed Traffic Tickets, but did not expose a reliable field inventory. Do not guess that it accepts a name, birth date, or citation number.
Eton links EZCourtPay. Its public form requires date of birth and either citation number or last name. A city citation should be confirmed with the city clerk because online payment access does not prove that appearance is optional.
For Chatsworth, select the Traffic Tickets route on the city-linked Government Window page. If the vendor cannot locate the citation, use the city clerk number rather than the Tyler municipal payments page. The Tyler page displayed property tax, building permit, and business-license services during research, but no municipal-court search option. It should not be presented as an alternate citation database.
For Eton, the city clerk and court clerk office is at City Hall, 3464 U.S. Highway 411 North, Eton, Georgia 30724. Its published hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The municipal court location is listed separately at North Georgia Probation Services, 106 West Fort Street in Chatsworth. Confirm whether a task belongs at the clerk's office or the court location before traveling.
Eton's citation instructions allow a person to appear on the printed date and enter a plea, or to pay before that date when advance payment is permitted. Accepted routes listed in the current material include cash, card, debit, money order, and online payment, with a 2.9 percent online user fee. The same source says no checks and no phone payments. Because an older procedure sheet conflicts on phone payment, the current city clerk controls.
Murray Mandatory Appearance Check
Some citations require a court appearance. Murray Probate says bondable offenses require appearance. Eton lists examples such as DUI, suspended license or registration, no license, hit and run, reckless driving, shoplifting, and specified city offenses. The citation and clerk control the current requirement.
Eton's current instructions allow appearance and plea on the citation date or advance payment when permitted. They state no checks and no phone payments, while an older document mentions phone payment. Call 706-695-2652 to resolve that conflict.
Murray Court Reporting to DDS
Courts transmit conviction information to Georgia DDS through court-partner systems. The DDS court-partner page illustrates that reporting relationship.

The court remains the source for its citation file, while DDS controls its own state record.
The DDS traffic conviction report page provides the final assigned image.

Those reports are aggregate counts. They do not identify one person or establish one citation's disposition.
Murray Delinquent Citation Route
Murray Probate states that citations 120 days past due are referred to Penn Credit at 800-800-3328. That is an official delinquency procedure, not a second docket database. The court remains the place to confirm the citation, date, disposition, and any failure-to-appear action.
DDS questions may be directed to 678-413-8400, but a court-file copy still comes from Probate or the municipal clerk that heard the matter. Keep the two custodians and their records separate.
Murray Traffic Record Request
When a portal shows only payment data, ask the issuing clerk for the court file. Give the court name, full citation number, issuing agency, approximate issue date, and the specific item needed, such as the docket entries, plea, disposition, or certified order. Ask whether the material is public, whether any part must be redacted, and what the copy and certification charges will be.
A mailed request should include a return address and should not include cash unless the court expressly directs it. Probate's payment instructions allow a money order or cashier's check for citation payment, but that does not establish the method or amount for record copies. Confirm the distinction by phone. Chatsworth requests belong with the city clerk, and Eton city-record requests may use the official form and email route at Eton Open Records. The city says to allow at least 48 hours, but court-file custody should still be confirmed.
If a request is denied or delayed, ask for the legal basis and whether a public docket entry or redacted portion can be supplied. A narrow request is easier to route and price than a demand for a new summary.
Match the request route to the issuing agency as well as the court. The Murray Probate page names the Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, and Motor Vehicle Compliance Division or DOT as sources of county citations. A city police citation may instead belong to Chatsworth or Eton. The court printed on the ticket is more reliable than the road where the stop occurred.
For a citation that has not posted, record when it was issued and when each system was checked. Georgia's published 7-to-21-business-day transmission warning explains why an early online search may fail. It does not extend the appearance date. Call the clerk when the printed date is close. Ask whether the citation has reached the court, whether an appearance is mandatory, and whether a changed setting has been entered. That confirmation is more useful than repeated payment-site searches.
